The Rainbow Bridge

On all sides of my family there has been death of pets in the past month. Pets are members of our family not just an animal. The lose is huge and it takes a toll on us emotionally. Me personally I have our family cat cremated in a box in my home. I know some people may think it's not normal but my love for animals is anything but normal. The one comfort is I know we will see them again. There is a poem I have read and sent to people when they loose a pet. It's called The Rainbow Bridge.

The Rainbows Bridge Poem

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Bridal Shower Ladies Lunch

I feel so blessed that i could have 1 amazing bridal shower but i got 2. the second one was made possible by the amazing host Sandy Moore. She has been like a second mom and a great friend to me growing up. As many times as i have been to her home nothing prepared me for the experience i had there on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. The decor, the ambiance, the food, and the love. She knew the ideas i had for my wedding decor and he went with that. i teared up at the end because it was over. This shower was filled with family and family friends who are basically family. It was a great day. Thank you Sandy and Kelli Moore!!!

For my bachelorette i didn't want Vegas or clubs or strippers, i wanted wine tasting. All my girls came (minus 2 or 3 due to travel) plus my mom and my mother in law. we went to 3 different winery's, South Coast Winery, Chapin Family Vineyards, and Thornton Winery. we got a party bus to take us from San Diego to Temecula then to all the winery's and back. It was a whole day event and i couldn't have asked for a better send off into married life. thank you ladies for sending me out in style and full of wine!!

14 days

Today i have been married for 14 days to the most amazing man. It just keeps getting it better and i feel so blessed. For my 2 week anniversary i wanted to share this beautiful peom about my love for my husband, Greg Henninger.

Pablo Neruda - Sonnet XVII

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
Or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
In secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in
Itself the light of hidden flowers;
Thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
Risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
So I love you because I know no other way

That this: where I does not exist, nor you,
So close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
So close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
